PWYD (Pay What You Decide)

OCM presents a special cluster of events within audiograft’s 10th festival that celebrate some of the artists who have been on their Boom scheme over the last 5 years. You can watch them perform, meet them (and other audiograft artists), and join in discussion sessions with them, all in the hidden secret that is the Barn in St John’s College, right in Oxford’s city centre.

Hammergags, Howlings and Glitches

A discussion around expressive noise les by Tim Hill (composer, bandleader and saxophonist.
Tim is fascinated by how humans use noise, especially in ritual, celebration and protest. He has encountered these ideas through his time on OCM’s Boom programme, his work as a street band musician, involvement in outdoor celebrations, carnivals, protests and theatre and as a free improviser. An opportunity to discuss and explore.

Sound & Architecture

Iain Chambers talks about the importance of the built environment as musical inspiration and sound source. He'll play his own favourite examples of the interaction between architecture and sound, and unpick how the interplay between them plays out in his own work.
